On Friday night and Saturday afternoon my Mother and I went to the Junk sister's show. This was our 2nd year going, it's really fun. I picked up several things at the show, I will be sharing in upcoming posts. The one I am sharing with you today is the very old window I picked up at the show for 22 dollars.
The window gives the bathroom the perfect touch of shabby in this very chic room!
When I bought the window it was just a plain old window. I add the vinyl white chandelier. I bought the vinyl chandelier almost a year ago on Etsy I had been debating where to put it, I wanted it to be perfect since they cannot be moved once they are stuck on. What's great about sticking it on this window is I can always move the window. If I had put it on a wall and I ever repainted that wall I wouldn't be able to keep it. I also added this valance to make it seem even more like a real window. I'm debating on adding some lace curtains on the sides I am not sure if I am going to or not yet.
I always wished this bathroom had a window in this exact place, I feel this gives it the feel of a window, the nice part is though no one can see in my bathroom. Plus the vinyl chandelier gives it the luxury look I love. Also since this is not a real window the vinyl chandelier gives you something nice to look at. I think this is a great idea for a room without a window or a basement too. I don't have a basement but if I did I would defiantly be doing more of these.
I love my girly bathroom.
I love this Janae! The window was so chippy and interesting looking and now you have made it adorable! I love how the chandelier on the glass makes it stand away from the wall and look more "real". Now I wish I had done this with the one I have! You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteSei stata molto brava ad arredare il tuo bagno!Così romantico e rilassante!E' bellissimo!Rosetta
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Our main bathroom in our home (which is an older farm house), is almost in the center of the home, and therefor no windows, which I have always hated! We'll be doing some remodeling, of sorts, in there soon....new gray floor tiles, and paint. We already put wainscotting in there, painted white of course, and I have a frilly white ruffled lace & netting shower curtain too :) I really do like this faux window treatment!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the other fab things you found, and how you have incorporated them into your beautiful home :)
Warmest hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant, Janae! It’s a graceful shabby chic transformation! How come you’re so good at it? :D Did you add the lace you were talking about? It would be better if you pass over that notion. On another note, you do have a real bathroom window, don’t you? It would probably look as gorgeous with the same design as that! -->Tisa
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the window it hold it's place!? And what did you put behind it!? I absolutely love this idea! I have a small bathroom with no windows I would love to do this in!
